With its excellent texture and its well-formed, flame orange roots, this is a deservedly popular variety. It can be sown and enjoyed early in the season, or sown little and often for a steady supply. It crops generously and is easy to grow. Harvest May to September. Planting Best sown in situ March July. Sow finely, 1cm deep in fertile soil that has been cleared of weeds and stones. Rows should be 30cm apart. Water soil before sowing seed. When seedlings germinate, gradually thin them to 5cms spacing. Can also be grown in containers. Aftercare keep well-watered until established and protect with fine netting to discourage carrot fly. Earth the roots up as they swell, to prevent green crowns from developing. Eventual height & spread 30 15cms.
