Sweet taste and striking colour come together in this Nantes-type carrot, which grows uniform roots and is strongly disease resistant. It adds flavour and interest in a range of dishes, retaining its colour even when cooked. Harvest June to October. Planting sow April May, scattering seeds sparingly in rows that are 30-45cms apart. The seed bed should be sieved and raked to a fine tilth, and free of weeds and stones. For a longer cropping season, grow in pots and under glass. Carrots do not like freshly manured soil. Keep moist seedbed until germinated. Aftercare thin seedlings to 8cms spacing, and feed when 810cms tall, repeating when 1215cms tall. Eventual height & spread 30 10cms.
