StocksandGreen
A key perennial for mixed borders and cottage garden plantings, this selection is prized for its elegant spires of creamy-white flowers that tower over mounds of handsome, palmate foliage. Shade-tolerant, it can brighten up a sheltered corner, and is also excellent for cutting. Flowers July August. Planting before planting, soak the seeds for 48 hours. Sow under cover, March May or September October, 5-10mm deep. Start off in a propagator or sealed polythene bag on a windowsill, as germination requires 20 30C, and can take 3 4 weeks. Prick out to individual pots when big enough to handle. Harden off seedlings, and transplant to final position 50cms apart after all threat of frost has passed. Aftercare cut faded flower spikes and feed and water to stimulate a second blooming. Eventual height & spread 120 60cms.
