An outstanding selection for flower arrangers, this popular climbing annual produces glorious wine-coloured flowers on strong stems and keeps on blooming the more they are cut. It will need support and requires tying in as it grows. Flowers May to September. Planting sow under glass October April, soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours prior to sowing. Sow in deep trays, pots or root trainers, 1cm deep, and propagate at 20-25C. Grow seedlings on in cooler temperatures to harden them, and when all threat of frost has passed, plant out in final position. Alternatively, sow outdoors April May in flat drills, 2.5cm deep, with 8cms spacing. Once the second set of leaves appear, pinch out tops to encourage side shoots. Aftercare provide adequate support. Cut flowers and deadhead regularly, to prolong the season. Eventual height & spread 180 20cms.
