StocksandGreen
This enduringly popular annual creates a cloud of dainty white flowers and is a must-have plant for flower arrangers. It looks lovely in a cottage garden, and in a prairie planting scheme it associates very stylishly with many varieties ornamental grass. Flowers July to October. Planting sow under glass February March or in situ March June. Surface sow into well-prepared soil thats been raked to a fine tilth. Cover as sparingly as possible with soil. Transplant indoor-grown seedlings when large enough, or thin to 40-50cms apart. To encourage a bushy habit and more flowers, pinch out the tips of the plants. Aftercare do not fertilise: this will generally lead to foliage growth rather than improved flowering. Regularly cut stems for the vase to prolong flowering. Self-seeds freely. Eventual height & spread 70 45cms.
