From early summer until the first frosts, the blazing orange blooms of this lively California Poppy are a delight in beds and containers. Plant them in big drifts for maximum effect. They self-seed tirelessly, so are ideal for cutting. Flowers July to September. Planting sow March May in situ, in shallow, pre-watered drills. Cover with a very fine layer of soil over the seeds and firm down. Keep moist until the seedlings emerge, and then thin them out to about 15cms spacing. Aftercare regular deadheading and cutting of flowers through summer will stimulate more growth. Allow this variety to self-seed unwanted seedlings are easily pulled up when they emerge in the following spring. Eventual height & spread 30 20cms.
