The SP555 V from Mountfield is a premium self-propelled lawn mower with a steel/aluminium hybrid chassis.Formed from a single piece of pressed steel then galvanised for durability, the chassis stiffness has been strengthened by double with the added 4 step molding process. The inclusion of aluminium components to areas of the mower where rigidity and strength are crucial, including the grass discharge chute allows for the hybrid chassis.A 4 wheel self-propelled mower with a variable speed transmission. The heavy duty stepless variator transmission is designed around a new larger cone which lets the user control the travelling speed without having to apply too much pressure to the drive lever. Less sensitive to wear, providing more torque than on previous models.Featuring a large 53cm/21 inch cutting width which allows you to cover more ground with less effort than a hand-propelled model. The Honda GCVx170 engine has a 167cc capacity and produces 3.3kW at 2900rpm.With 7 cutting height positions, ranging through 25-77mm that can be adjusted with the central lever to ensure you choose the perfect cutting height for your lawn. It is recommended to start on the highest setting and gradually work down to avoid any damage to the grass and to ensure the best cut and finish.The SP555 V is supplied as standard with a mulch plug. Simply fit the mulch plug to the rear of the mower to allow the grass clipping to be mulched in to tiny pieces before being blown back on to the ground. These nutrient rich particles are re-absorbed for a healthier lawn.
