1.8 Metres of Richmond Teak... The chunky, scroll-like arms are the centre-piece of the Richmond design This, combined with the gently curved seat and angled back rest make the whole bench a joy to behold and sit on. The hand-finish of the teak puts it in a class of its own as well with rounded corners and a smooth surface thats so comfortable you dont need a cushion. Far superior to other models on the market today and really popular with commercial customers Up to five people will sit comfortably across the massive 1.8 metre length which is stunningly impressive in itself. No bolts allowed! In twenty years of sourcing and supplying teak benches we have learnt that bolting them together only leads to a finished product with a very short life span with the wood being compromised and the joints themselves assuming that wobble that, once present, leads to the whole bench quickly becoming useless. Instead, we insist on the use of mortice and tenon joints reinforced with teak dowels this ensures we can offer that long lasting quality every single time. And, ultimately, it saves you money as well. Teak is well-known for its dense, oily qualities which give it natural resistance to the British weather across all seasons making it the best timber for use in outdoor furniture. Over time the honey-coloured aspect of the new teak will turn a lovely silver-grey. This isnt to everyones taste so, for cosmetic purposes, you can restore the timber to its original gait with elbow grease and mild, soapy water on a hot summers day.
