For best visual impact it is recommended to plant in groups 6 or more bulbs with a 15cm spacing between each bulb. Tulips are erect flowers with long, broad, parallel-veined leaves and a cup-shaped, single or double flower at the tip of the stem. The best types of tulips for attracting bees are found in varying shades of violet. Bees are able to see the ultraviolet rays these petals produce when reflected in the sun. Tulips can be kept in the soil all year round to re flower the following year.
