Composted bark fines are primarily used for composting, outdoor applications, soil improvement, and weed suppression. They are derived from mixed conifer bark with a significant portion of spruce. The fines, ranging from 0 to 10mm, are meticulously produced through dedicated chipping, milling, and screening processes. More than 90 of the particles fall within the 0-10mm range, with minimal white wood content typically not exceeding 10 by mass. The moisture content varies between 55 percent and 65 percent on a green weight basis, subject to seasonal fluctuations. The bulk density ranges from 350 to 500 Kgm. The pH level falls between 5.5 and 7.5. Sourced entirely from materials within the British Isles, the product is guaranteed free from methyl bromide contamination. Rigorous measures ensure the absence of foreign materials such as metal, glass, and plastic. Characterized by a brownblack color and a texture akin to peat, these fines are durable, long-lasting, and devoid of pathogens, pests, and weed seeds.
