This exuberant mix produces a selection of dahlias in bright colours, carried on sturdy stems, making it an ideal source of late-season cut flowers. Strongly attractive to useful pollinators, dahlias will grow in borders and patio containers. Flowers July to October. Planting for best results, sow under glass February April, 5mm deep, in trays of damp seed compost and cover with vermiculite or soil. Propagate at 15-20C. When two true leaves have developed, transplant into pots, taking care when handling the root system. Grow on and plant out in fertile soil when all risk of frost has passed. For bushy plants, pinch out the growing tips. Aftercare deadhead regularly to encourage further flowering. Provide support if necessary. Cut back hard in autumn, and mulch to provide winter protection. In cold areas, lift the tubers and overwinter them. Eventual height & spread 90 45cms.
