With its vivid blue, nectar-rich flowers, this compact and manageable perennial is a fine choice for a wildlife planting. Ideal for the front of a sunny border, its admirably drought-tolerant and easy to grow. Flowers June to August. Planting sow under glass, February April, onto moist seed compost and cover sparingly with vermiculite, keeping at 20C for germination. Harden off indoor-raised seedlings and plant out at 30cms spacing once all risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, sow in situ May July, in well-raked soil. Aftercare cut back to promote a second show of flowers, and cut back to ground level in autumn for division in the following spring. This variety will self-seed. Eventual height & spread 45 45cms.
