This imposing Mullein has much to offer upright architectural form and glorious colouring. Its clear white flowers have rich burgundy centres are and very attractive to pollinators. Theyre ideal for cutting as the enjoy a long vase life. This selection grows well in poor soils, in full sun, and would be very much at home in a gravel garden. Flowers July to September. Planting sow under glass January April, preferably in deep pots of seed compost or root trainers. Keep in moist and shady conditions at 21C. Once germinated, reduce the moisture level, and grow on in cooler conditions. Harden off before planting out at 45cms spacing once all threat of frost has passed. For early flowers the following year, sow in situ during July and August. Aftercare to stimulate flower growth, remove the centre flower stalk when its faded, cutting just above the emerging side-shoots. Eventual height & spread 60 40cms.
