StocksandGreen
This is a short-lived perennial, but an enduring cottage garden favourite. It has delightful blue flowers with yellow stamens and attractive ferny foliage both are excellent for cutting. A magnet for bees, its ideal for a wildlife garden. Flowers June to August. Planting sow under glass, in moist compost, February April or September November. Lightly cover seed with fine layer of compost and keep at 15-18C (slightly lower at night). Germination can fail if temperature is too high. Transplant seedlings into individual pots when large enough to handle and acclimatise outdoors before planting out when all risk of frost has passed. Overwinter any autumn sowings until the following year. Aftercare cut right back in autumn to avoid wind rock, and deadhead to avoid self-seeding. Eventual height & spread 90 50cms.
