Flowering in its first year, this hardy perennial is a great choice for any garden. It bears its vibrant red flowers on tall stems, making it a favourite with flower arrangers. In beds and borders it will attract butterflies and useful pollinators. Flowers July to September. Planting sow under glass, in moist seed compost, February April for flowers in the first year. Cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Keep at 15-20 until germination occurs. Transplant into individual pots when the seedlings are large enough to handle, and harden off before planting out at 25cms spacing, once there is no longer a threat of frost. Alternatively, sow outside May July in a prepared seedbed. These plants will bloom in the following year. Aftercare cutting and deadheading will prolong the flowering season. Eventual height & spread 60 45cms.
