This chic half-hardy annual will thrive in a little shade, and its apple green flowers can be relied on to add a pop of subtle colour in any border. It will complement other varieties of almost any colour, and its sturdy stems make it a very useful cut flower. Flowers July to October. Planting sow under glass March April, preferably in cells or modules to avoid later root-disturbance when planting out. Germinate at 15C-25C. When all risk of frost has passed, harden off and plant out at 20-25cms spacing. Alternatively, sow in situ April May, 3mm deep, in well-prepared soil raked to a fine tilth. Water generously. Aftercare to extend the flowering season, deadhead regularly. Eventual height & spread 50 30cms.
