StocksandGreen
A cornerstone of the herb garden, this robust evergreen shrub produces masses of needle-like, aromatic foliage on upright stalks. Pretty blue flowers irresistible to bees cover the plant in late spring and early summer. Harvest April to July; flowers May and June. Planting sow under glass, March May or September October, pressing seeds lightly onto moist seed compost. Leave uncovered as light is required for germination, which can be slow. Propagate at 18-25C. If germination has not occurred after 4 weeks, move to temperatures of 4C for 4 weeks to stratify, and then return to the warmth. Transplant seedlings when theyre big enough to handle but avoid overwatering. Plant out in well-draining poor soil in a sunny spot. Aftercare prune lightly from mid-spring. Whole stems can be cut and dried for winter use. Eventual height & spread 90 90cms.
