Rhinanthus Minor (yellow Rattle) Seeds

StocksandGreen
This annual is parasitic its roots attach themselves to the roots of nearby grasses, degrading them and creating opportunities for other wildflowers to grow. It can be a great asset to anyone wanting to establish a wildflower planting. Flowers July to September. Planting germination may be slow, so seeds require a long period of cold stratification. Sow in situ September November, into scarified soil. No thinning is required. Once established, this variety should self-sow for the following year. If sowing into existing grassland, the grass must be cut short to allow the Yellow Rattle to establish itself. Water generously during dry spells. Aftercare to reduce the plant, cut back after flowering to prevent self-seeding. Eventual height & spread 50 10cms.
