Pea shoots are tasty and nutritious, and perfect for adding to salads. This variety can be grown as a cut and come again crop, and the shoots and tendrils can be ready for eating in as little as three weeks after sowing. Harvest July to September. Planting for shoots, sow indoors all-year-round in trays. Cover the seeds with 15mm of compost, leaving a small space between them. The shoots will be ready to harvest within 34 weeks. Alternatively, grow outside, like a traditional pea, sowing seeds April June once the soil is warm enough. Plant 15cms apart in flat bottomed, pre-watered drills, 5cms deep. Plant two seeds per sowing, and thin out the weaker seedling. Aftercare for shoots, harvest when the plant is 30cms tall. Pick the top 2-5cm of every tip. Following the first harvest, let the plant recover for 2 weeks, then harvest weekly. If growing for a pea harvest, give plants support to climb, and net to protect from birds. Eventual height & spread 75 20cms.
