This reliable biennial is a joy to grow and makes a superb companion for spring-flowering tulips at the start of the gardening year. It carries its clusters of pretty blue flowers above a clump of mid-green foliage and is much visited by bees. Flowers April to August. Planting sow under glass April June, onto the surface of seed compost in trays and lightly cover. Seeds need a temperature of 20C to germinate successfully. Transplant to individual pots or modules once the seedlings are big enough to handle. In late summer, plant out to final position at 20cms spacing. Aftercare will self-seed freely. Eventual height & spread 30 15cms.
