With a neat, compact habit, this popular Cos lettuce has great flavour and crisp and crunchy leaves. With succession plantings, it can be harvested from late spring until autumn. Delicious in salads and sandwiches. Harvest May to October. Planting sow sparingly March August in drills, 10mm deep, in soil that has been raked to a fine tilth. Grows well under cloches in frosty weather. When large enough to handle, thin seedlings out to to 15cms between plants. Suitable for succession sowing for constant supply. Alternatively sow under cover February April in modules, and plant out to the vegetable garden after the frosts have finished. Thin to 15cms spacing, with 25 30cms between rows. Aftercare sow little and often to enjoy many months of steady supply. Eventual height & spread 30 30cms.
