StocksandGreen
An enduringly popular leek variety, prized for its long white stems and its deliciously mild, sweet taste. The blue-green leaves are splendidly hardy, so the plants are slow to bolt in spring. Can be harvested through autumn and winter and enjoyed garden fresh! Harvest August to February. Planting under glass, sow January March, 10mm deep in pots or modules of seed compost. Germinate at 10-15C, then lower the temperature. When young plants reach 20cm tall, acclimatise, and plant out 15cms deep into well-drained soil, at 25cms spacing and in rows 30cms apart. The seedlings can be transplanted to final growing location later. Aftercare thoroughly water planting hole before planting. Earth up growing plants to keep stems blanched. Eventual height & spread 45 15cms.
