Kale nero Di Toscana Seeds

StocksandGreen
This exceptionally good-looking variety has heavily wrinkled blue-green leaves that bring colour and texture to the vegetable garden in winter. Picked young, the leaves can be enjoyed raw in salads and are an important ingredient in many popular Italian recipes. Harvest September to March. Planting sow under glass all year round for a steady supply of young kale salad leaves. For an early start sow January March for planting out May July. Sow 2 seeds per module, and thin out the weaker seedling. Transplant when large enough. Alternatively, plant outdoors March June, sowing sparingly into drills 1.5cm deep in a well-prepared seed bed. Thin out young plants to 45cm. For mature plants, transplant into rich, fertile soil at 60cms spacing, and use horticultural fleece to protect from insects and birds. Aftercare harvest lower leaves first and work up the plant. Eventual height & spread 90 45cms.
