Reliable and vigorous, this award-winning Florence Fennel produces large white bulbs with a wonderfully crunchy texture and a mouth watering aniseed flavour. Perfect for slicing raw into salads, or for braising. The delicate, feathery foliage makes a stylish garnish. Planting sow in-situ, March July, 15mm deep in rows and cover with fine soil. When germinated, thin seedlings to 25cms spacing, and mound earth around them as the bulbs start to swell, to exclude light and keep them white. Aftercare keep the soil weed-free, adequately watered, and add mulch to retain moisture. Harvest from July to October as required and use the bulbs as soon as possible for best flavour. Eventual height & spread 180 35cms.
