The fern-like leaves and the seeds of this sophisticated herb share the same aniseed flavour and enliven numerous meat and fish recipes. Grown in a sunny, sheltered spot it will attract beneficial insects, and also makes an excellent filler in a vase of cut flowers. Planting can be sown under glass all year round for use in cooking. Sprinkle seeds onto moist seed compost and cover light with soil, as light is required for germination. Alternatively, sow outdoors, in well-prepared soil, March July. Suitable for succession sowing from March for a steady supply through the season. Aftercare remove flower buds as they develop, to encourage more leaf growth. May need support if grown on an exposed site. Eventual height & spread 90 30cms.
