Used for centuries to make a relaxing herbal tea, German Chamomile has knee-high, gloriously aromatic, ferny foliage and white, daisy-like flowers. It thrives in a sunny spot and is a magnet for bees and butterflies. Flowers and harvest June and July. Planting sow in-situ, in fine soil, March May, or August October. Autumn sowings will germinate the following spring. Alternatively sow under cover March April or August October and overwinter. When big enough, transplant indoor-grown seedlings into individual pots. Plant out into final position in May or June when there is no further risk of frost. Aftercare when harvesting flowers for use in infusions, pick them in the morning, when fully open. Eventual height & spread 30 45cms.
