This annual flowers generously, and is often grown to attract butterflies and bees, and for use as a cut flower. The glaucous leaves, speckled white, have a waxy texture and the nodding summer flowers borne in clusters are a deep purple. Theyre followed by large black seeds. Flowers May to October. Planting soak the seeds for 12-24 hours prior to planting. Sow under glass in February April or August September for overwintering, or in-situ in between April and May. If grown under cover, harden-off and plant out when all risk of frost has passed. Aftercare hardy in mild frosts, but young plants may need protection during spells of extreme cold. Eventual height & spread 65 45cms.
