An exceptionally appealing wildflower that is irresistible to bees, and often planted around fields of growing produce. The star-like flowers are a vivid blue and edible they have a mild, cucumber taste and make a pretty garnish in a glass of Pimms. The arrow shaped foliage is clothed in downy hairs. Flower and harvest from June to September. Planting Best sown in situ April July but can be sown under glass from March. Sow 1cm deep into moist seed compost and keep at 15-25C. Thin out seedlings to 23cms spacing. Water generously during spells. Aftercare harvest fresh flowers as required, for use in drinks and salads. At the end of the season, pull up the plants and compost them. Eventual height & spread 90 40cms.
